Used Forklift Classes


  • Class 1 forklifts are either seated or stand-up operator electric, rider truck, three-wheel units. Rider units are counterbalanced and may have cushion or pneumatic wheels.

    Class 2 forklifts are often used in order picking and inventory stock applications. These electric trucks work well in narrow aisle environments.

    Class 3 forklifts are often counterbalanced either standing-rider or walk-behind electric trucks. High lift models and automated pallet lift-trucks are common.

    Class 4 forklifts are rider fork trucks, with internal combustion engines, seated controls, and cabs with cushion or solid tires.

    Class 5 forklifts are typically counterbalanced; these fork trucks, with internal combustion engines, seated controls, and cabs with pneumatic tires.

    Class 6 forklifts are sit-down rider, tow tractor lifts, with electric or internal combustion engines.

    Class 7 forklifts are often used in construction, logging and agriculture. Designed for use on rough terrain.
